You don't want to lay the eggs at the bottom of the pot and hope for the best. Your eggs will crack using this method. You will want to use your instant pot trivet for making hard boiled or soft boiled eggs in the pot. You can also use the silicone egg bites molds below to make eggs for egg sandwiches or fancy egg appetizers. Hard Boiling Eggs in the instant pot is super easy and quick and it’s pretty hard to get a broken shell with this method. The only time I saw one break was when my 9 year old made them and she didn’t put enough water at the bottom of the pot. They don’t go directly in the water like when you boil on the stove, so they don’t giggle around and crash into each other which is what usually breaks the shells on the stove. I make hard boiled eggs once a week in the instant pot for a quick protien packed breakfast the kids can grab on the way out the door.
